AntĂłnio Teixeira

Lopes (born October 27, 1866 in Vila N ova de Gaia, died. June 21, 1942 in San Mamede Riba Tua) - Portug uese sculptor. Antonio was the son of the sculptor José Joaquim Teixeira Lopes e D. Raquel Pereira Lopes Meireles Teixeira, inher iting family sculptural traditions. His brother, Jose Teixeira Lopes was an architect and co-author of many works. In the workshop of his father spent his childhood, which contributed to the further development of his artistic personality. In 1882 he was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Porto, where he studied sculpture under the direction of Soares dos Reis and painting under the supervision of João Marques de Oliveira.
